Mountain View Elementary’s Principal Dyanne Sherrill likes to remind parents while the focus at the school is on achieving academic success with each student, staff members are focused on the “whole child” as well – their physical, social, and emotional well being.
“We’re just letting the kids know they are loved and supportive. It’s more than just A’s, B’s and C’s,” Sherrill said.
Certainly the school’s recent Sweet Heart Ball was a good example of this.
Like so many other schools in the county, every year Mountain View’s teacher assistants (TAs) work on projects to raise funds for local children’s charities.
