Mountain View Elementary first-graders support backpack program

First-grade students at Mountain View Elementary participated in their fourth annual fundraiser this year, benefiting the backpack food program.

In order for the first-graders at the school to grasp the difference between “services” and “goods,” either grown or produced, their teachers had them do a flower-making project, according to a Mountain View press release.

The flowers are made of tissue paper and all profits go to help feed kids at Mountain View this year through the backpack program.

It’s a learning lesson for the students as well.
